1. The first thing that I would tell any new player when starting WoW is to get their professions sorted first and you do not have to go for the most difficult ones like engineering and enchanting! You can make good money by getting skinning and mining which are the 2 easiest to get to grips with.

Once you have got mining and skinning all you need to do is go to the starting areas if you are not there already and start killing beasts to skin their pelts and looking around for copper to mine. Then once you have got a few stacks of 20 run off to the AH and check out the prices that others are putting their pelts and ore on for and match it or even undercut them.
3. All you need to do then is sit back and watch the gold roll in. The reason that these sell so well is because a lot of these items are needed in other professions such as enchanting and herbalism as well.
Also if you want to really make gold fast then once you have leveled up those 2 professions you should get the others going. I mean you can only have 2 at a time but once you have made enough gold you should start swapping them about.
