Eastern Kingdoms Come Cataclysm

The Cataclysm press even was a huge success for this month in June. Some avid World of Warcraft players even have a chance to sit down and play the game itself.  Thus, if you are utterly excited about some changes you might encounter with the soon to be patch, here are some things you can anticipate.

Eastern Kingdoms

Stormwind is one key area any WoW player should not miss. When you will head north, you will clearly notice the changes and additions in the world of Azeroth. One is that the Stormwind location now has a large lake behind it and also housing and farms outside the city. When you move beyond the said location, you will somehow come across to Badlands. In here the entire mountain that is bordering the Burning steppes had its top area sheared off. Much more, you can even see rocks that are visibly scalding and molting from an unknown damage. There are even multiply mountains as well as pillars that were also destroyed. A large scar stretches that are already blackened can be seen until the third zone. It actually feels like the impact crater of a large object has rocketed and smashed to the ground. With regards to the Horde, Kargath has eventually succumbed to an avalanche. As a result, it is now buried beneath rock.

If you flew further north or perhaps walk even more, you will come across a large chasm spanning what is used to be the border of Badlands and Loch Modan. If you would look even closer it actually expands in the entirety of the Eastern Kingdom continent. This is destroyed similarly like the Barrens. If you would still pursue until the Loch Modan, you will probably notice the said area to be devoid of water. This is due to the dam that was destroyed. Another result was the Wetlands now is more wet. There is heavy flooding at the base of the dam. The Menethil Harbor also did not turn out well. As a result the aftermath of the Cataclysm, has eventually left Menethil partially underwater. The residents eventually place sandbags to protect structures as long as they could.

Hilsbrad Foothills is still there. Southshore is eventually still present. It actually does not appear to be destroyed by any natural disaster. But a Forsaken plague is evident. The ground is covered with green ooze with a haze filing in the air. There is also Forsaken plague wagons scattered with deadly toxins.

In Western Plaguelands there are major transformations that can be seen in once a classic area. At least in here the grass is not plagued and there are no overrun farms by Scourge. The said area has been repopulated. The farmlands are now growing crops. Much more Andorhal already began to see signs of life. Alliance buildings are now rebuilt especially on the western edge of the city. It is even clear that a war between the alliance and the forsaken will eventually have a fight for this resource rich land.

Kalimdor Come Cataclysm

Cataclysm is an expansion that has eventually made various World of Warcraft players glued to the game itself. However, it is still not definite as to when the said update would be made available. However, there are some who already got the privilege to eventually test the said update. Good thing they are more than willing to share the context of the game. One of which that was explored was the Kalimdor land.

Kalimdor

The alliance presence in Kalimdor now is substantial. The prominent ones are the Alliance Alliance military that includes the siege tanks, stormwind, battalions and all. In addition, the Alliance also expanded Theramore and even added a new exit which is a highway stretching the length of Dustwallow Marsh into the Southern Barrens. It is very evident that this is used to transport forces into the battlefront as seen by the barricades, siege engines and even litter of Tauren and Ogre corpses on the grounds.

As you will move into the southern barrens, you might find yourself amidst an ongoing war between the alliance and the horde. Both factions eventually create footholds along the areas in the mountains. You might even notice a large battlescar marked in the land which spans from north to south. There are even broken and destroyed war machines in the said canvas. When you head north, you will come across one grim discovery. The alliance has eventually burned the Camp Taurajo down as an evident push to the Northern Barrens and also Stonetalon.

The alliance presence in Ashenvale doesn’t change much. But on the other hand, the horde has keen interest in the lumber in the said region. They eventually have set up camps along the hills on the north of Astranaar. Garrosh Hellscream reinforced Zoram’gar Strand now known as Zoram’gar Outpost. There is even a bigger threat in Ashenvale. A volcanic eruption occurs in the east of Astrannar leaving the area charred with lava and mud.

Heading to Darkshore a player would then discover another changed area aside from Azshara. Darkshore has eventually been torn asunder. The terrain cracked and fragmented in a way that can’t be described. In addition there are even torrential rivers ripped through and leading to a massive whirling maelstrom found mostly in the northern section of the zone. In the center one would see a gigantic vortex of swirling energy with Malfuran Stormrage. His purpose is to keep Darkshore from being torn apart. You will even notice some volcanic eruptions at the side.

These are just some of the details you should not miss out when Cataclysm is here. Be sure to drop these areas and rediscover the places again. Another add on note, be prepared to fight as there are terrains filled with war and fights.

New Update On Path Of The Titans

Path of the Titans has been tagged as one alternative advancement system. According to BlizzCon 2009, this would be a new ground come World of Warcraft Cataclysm. It is even expected that there would be various titan cults to gain various character bonuses and also leveling up. Upon announcement, it is no wonder that many are excited to see and somehow experience this so called Path of the Titans.

However just recently, at the Cataclysm press event it has been announced that they will completely scrape away the Path of the Titans. This announcement was a major shock to all World of Warcraft players who are excited for its release. Much more, many were disappointed of such abrupt announcement without even giving its players an opportunity to explore it.

Blizzard definitely knows such since many have been eyeing Path of the Titans as an official area since it was declared way back in 2009. Nonetheless, to offset this absence, they have chosen to overhaul instead the glyph system. This would be an enhancement of the former glyph system that they had once implemented during the Wrath of the Lich King. As per the press conference these are the things they had duly noted.

Come Cataclysm there will be a new tier of glyphs. This is then tagged as the Medium glyphs. It will provide a so called “fun alterations” to the abilities. It is divided in two, the major and the minor glyphs. When a player reaches the highest level cap which is now 85, that player will receive 3 of each glyph type. Another wonderful change on the coming glyph system is that you will no longer buy glyphs again when you choose to re-specify or even rearrange them. Instead, you need to learn each glyph like how you will learn a skill. After gaining one, you have the power to swap it from a list. This list will show all available glyphs in accordance to your class. But you can only use the ones that you purchased.

In spite of the current glyph system, there are issues that somehow arise. First is the inscription profession. With glyphs becoming a learned ability, scribes may not profit at all. Especially if these will simply be swap at will from their spell books. Much more there are some speculations ranging as to what would be the “fun alterations” of the different WoW classes.

However, we are yet to find out as to how good or awesome the glyph system will be. Nonetheless it might take a while for us to preview it since the release date of Cataclysm is yet to be identified. But as a WoW player myself, this is something to look forward to regardless if Path of the Titans was scrapped off.

New Guild System On Cataclysm

The one thing that is being looked forward in the World of Warcraft Cataclysm update is the new guild leveling system. I am pretty sure that most guild leaders along with their guild members are excited on this new system. Somehow, it can even bring a guild closer together because the presence of its members is now essential and necessary.

Just recently, Blizzard held a press event in lieu with Cataclysm. It was then that they confirmed that the Guild System will definitely push through with the next update. However there are things that they will need to get rid off. Much more, if you have been expecting some areas along with this new system, better recheck here if Blizzard is still considering it.

The recent press conference definitely brought a quite few issues and unexpected things. For one with regards to the guild system, guild talents and currency are now not being considered. If however you got gloomy about this news then there are still some good ones. Rewards and achievements are still retained. As an overall assessment, the new system will be made simplified with its promised benefits.

Guild leveling can be done in various procedures. Its members must participate in different activities like dungeon raids, boss kills, quests completion, rated battlegrounds and unlocking guild achievements. The highest level cap for a guild would be 25. Each time you and your guild reach a level all of you will automatically be rewarded with different perks.

There would be different rewards to look forward to. These can be unlocked upon earning some guild achievements. Guild members have the right to purchase these items with gold so as that they have the right guild reputation. Some rewards that you can expect are mounts with flags that will show your guild tabard emblem, tabards and heirloom. Guild reputation is earned like how your guild levels. This is on a per character basis however. Achievements are of course must be done by the guild itself. If on an unfortunate circumstance that a member will leave a guild, the guild will still be able to have that achievement. But the members who earned it will be memorialized if other guilds will happen to view the guild’s achievements. In order for your group to gain raid achievements, it is necessary to have seven men in a ten man achievement. Much more you would need 20 members under the same guild umbrella in a 25 man achievement. There would definitely be realms for guild achievement purposes.

These are just some of the minor details any guild members and leader can duly anticipate on the next update. There is still more information that was not disclosed during the recent press conference so as not to spoil the whole guild system. Nonetheless with these alone I am pretty sure that guilds will be jam-pack come World of Warcraft Cataclysm.
