The big change of Cataclysm, of course, is in the talent system. In the past you would get 71 talents to spend (at level 80) and you couild place those talents in any of the three specs (Arms, Fury, and Protection.) With WoW 4.0 you get a total of 41 points at level 85. Also, and this is really the big change, at level 10 you pick your spec and then you remain with that spec, and only that spec, until youi have spent 31 points. So you pick Arms, for example. All of your next 31 talent points (which you will get at level 69) will go into Arms talents. After that you can move into the other specs.

The other big talent change for Warriors, and all others, is that you get some unique abilities when you pick your spec and you get access to a “Mastery” ability (from your trainer at level 80.) Mastery has unique effects for each class and each spec and those effects boost a primary mechanic of your spec. All of these special abilities, including Mastery, are in addition to the general class abilities.

Like other WoW classes there are definite differences between specs. For those who like precise use of two-handed weapon the Arms spec is the way to go. Arms deals plenty of damage and is a good all-around build. Fury is more for the berserker type and has a number of abilities that work with a berserkers “enraged” outlook. Like Arms, Fury can deal the hurt. For those who like to stand between the group and the boss monster the Warrior Protection spec is the only way to go. This spec has massive damage mitigation and can stand for a long time against brutal punishment.

As far as generating straight-up damage and PvP, well, people have been arguing that for a long time and any answer that is correct now will probably change with the next patch. So if you’re not the tank then would you rather wield two weapons or one?

The primary changes, overall, to the classes in WoW will be covered in this article, but there are many particulars which I’ll leave to other articles and various other WoW guides . These will cover points like the varoius class specs, leveling, the professions, and so on.

Naturally the various class abilities have been relocated around or been replaced and a few new ones have been added. Some skills are now obtainable at a considerably lower level than before, even though others are at a higher level. Also, abilites no longer possess ranks. When you select any class capability it will scale in value with your level, rather than you having to buy 10 versions of the same thing. On that point, weapon skills, and skills like Lockpicking, are handled the same way. You no longer need to level up these abilities, you either automatically get them, or you train them, and their ability level will constantly be at the max allowed for your character level. Choose a new weapon, that’s allowed by your class, and you can use it at full value immediately. 

Even after all that some classes, such as Hunters, got revised class mechanics (now utilizing focus, instead of mana, for instance) and that’s not also going into the transformations to the Old World. That will definitely be a far lengthier write-up than this one.

Scripts

They’ll even get some sweet gear and a fair chunk of gold for you (for more money.) So yeah, they’ll take your brand new level 1 and take it all the way to 80 (or 85 when Cataclysm hits) and leave you with gold and sweet gear.

Naturally, the act of buying characters or buying leveling is against the Terms of Service of Blizzard and most other MMO companies, so they’ll ban you if they catch you, but they won’t catch you, right? And people claim that there’s a certain security risk involved in giving a 3rd part access to you account, but what do they know anyway?  

Don’t forget that this is against Blizzard Terms of Service and that they will happily ban your account if they catch you.

Instance Rushing

Here’s a way that’s perfectly legal: grab a high level character from your guild, friends, game chat, or your second account, and have that character rush you through one ormany dungeons.

Here is where your lower level and the high level team up. You then enter then dungeon and your toon hangs back while the other one destroys everything. You get a ton of XP and probably get to keep everything that drops. 

Leveling Guides

If you’re doing it yourself then look into any of the various leveling guides that are available. What they do is dhow you where to go and what to do, allowing you to complete your tasks/quests in the most efficient manner possible. You can find these all over the web, in the WoW forums for example, and they’re help you get leveled more quickly than the standard in-game quest helper thing.

The paid guides generally come as in-game widgets which literally point the way and track stuff for you. Some will take you the solo route and others will take you through the various dungeons (yes, there are some dungeon leveling guides out there.) The latter is, in theory, faster, you just have to enjoy grouping. They almost make fast leveling too easy.

Leveling Tips

You can get double XP by logging out of the game at any Inn. When you come back you will get that double XP for awhile, depending on how long you were away. The Recruit-a-Friend system is even better. Bring a friend into the game, link accounts, and get triple XP. 

Try to organize your tasks so that you spend as little time as possible moving between them. Also, make sure that you have lots of bag space and adequate supplies.
