WoW’s First Hero Class – Death Knight
The mid November 2008 was the time of release of WoTLK when a new class was introduced namely The Death Knight. The Death Knights are considered as the first Hero Class of WoW. Actually, the ‘Hero Class’ seems unknown to all, since they have not proven their difference than the other classes. The exceptional thing is that you need higher level 55 characters in order to create a Death Knight. This created Death Knight of 55 level characters uses Runic Power and thereby his abilities.
You are liable to enter the game as level 55 characters when you create a Death Knight, which is loyal to the Lich King, Arthas. You can start off fully armed with green gear and 4, 12 slot bags and 20 silver in Acherus – The Ebon Hold, which occurs in the Eastern Plaguelands. As soon as you start asking questions near the Ebon Hold, you will be honored with the blue item and talent points. Thus up on reaching the level 57 or so, you are given the regular amount of talent points along with full blue gear for that level.
You would lose the interest and real fun if I divulge you the quest chain, but I can explain to you that the quest chain is rewarding and cool for sure. It is very easy to reach level 58 within an hour or two by doing the quests around The Ebon Hold. Hence although you do not wish to play a Death Knight, it will be fine to pick up some cool lore at least. Up on hitting 58, you can go to the Outlands since leveling there will not waste your much time. Nevertheless, you might be stuck to play a Death Knight, even if you do not plan to play as it is a cool class.
A Death Knight is a melee class that can wear most of the melee weapons. One can equip two one-handed weapons or choose for one two-handed weapon. He can serve as a melee damage dealer or as a tank. A Death Knight however, cannot equip a Shield. They are able to wear plate armor and are able to get a very high parry chance.
The Death Knight is a melee fighter that uses Runic Power for his special abilities, like said before. He has 6 runes that he can use by using certain abilities. These runes have a cooldown but do give the Death Knight some Runic Power. This Runic Power can then be used to use other special abilities that only cost Runic Power and do not place a rune on cooldown.
One of the first quests you will come across is called “The Emblazoned Runeblade”. This quest will give you the ability called Runeforging. This ability can be used to forge a rune on the DK’s weapons.
Like any other class, the Death Knight has three talent trees named as Frost, Unholy, and Blood. Each tree is useful in its own way, and it depends on the player as to which talent tree or trees in combination be used.
The merits of a Death Knight are that it is very easy to start him at level 55 that continues the fight as both the tank and dps for the longer period. They can have a Ghoul and Gargoyle pet due to their cool look. One cannot get groups and raids to play a Death Knight, which is the only demerit of this game.
